KENYA SCHOOL DESK: A BRIDGE OF SOLIDARITY BETWEEN ITALY AND AFRICA

From the 5th to the 7th July, the second Kenya School Desk solidarity meeting took place in Abbasanta (Sardinia).
We lived there in community as guests of volunteer Giusy Serra for 3 days. In line with the spirit of the Association, everyone helped out and tried to be useful.
The whole village of Abbasanta has mobilized to help us. Like a united and close-knitted team, everyone donated something for the Apericena buffet on July 6th. On that occasion, a solidarity market was also set up to raise funds to expand the “Furaha Academy” school in Malindi. This school was inaugurated this year for Easter, but is not yet in a position to accommodate all the requests it receives. To build 3 more classrooms, we still have to raise €3,500, and our goal is to open it at Christmas.
Many other projects are happening this year, one of which is an Africa Pads initiative, created to fight prostitution and to give girls a better future.
Would you like to help us too?
